Often clients have questions, and we strive to have the answers. Below are a few that you might find helpful in choosing by Masselyn for your design needs. Still pondering something? Just contact us directly and we are happy to help.
What if I just need assistance with upgrading my website, can you help?
Of course! If you have a website that just needs some new graphics or programming we are happy to help. Our hourly rate is $50 for work of this nature, and we only bill you for the time we actually work. There are no minimums with this service. With this service we can also assist you with hosts like ShoppePro, PappaShop, Merchant Moms and more. Although we do not design new websites for those hosts, we are more than happy to assist you with making changes to an existing site.
How come your prices are so high? I saw a website for $50 that was really nice on another site…
We can not speak on how other designers structure their prices. We can tell you that by Masselyn is a design studio building high-end professional websites & graphics. We do not create templates that are mass produced, and then sold to more than one client resulting in websites that look similar. We build completely custom websites & graphics, and this shows through our work. No two sites are alike, or even remotely similar. People are individuals, their styles are too – therefore their websites should be as well. We spend a lot of time making sure this is the result. We offer strong support through the entire process, sharing knowledge, tips & tricks and other website related information. If you check with comparable companies, you will find that our prices are actually quite reasonable for the service & care you will receive.
But, I want a low cost solution…
Contact us, we might be able to offer a package that will fit within your budget. Our custom website packages all come with the inclusion of formatting all of your content. You send all content to us, we bring it into the site and format it. Perhaps you might like to handle this on your own, which will lower the price of any of our packages. We try to find creative ways to assist our clients in receiving a high quality website for a price that fits within their budget. Just ask and we usually can work something out for you.
What do you need from me, the client, to keep my project on track?
Thanks for asking, because this is so important. Below is a list of important things that we love from our clients, to make sure their project runs smooth – on track – and without any delays.
- Have an idea of what you want. Please investigate. Flip through other websites for companies similar to yours and have a good feel for the look, layout and function that you want for your website, blog or graphic design project. This is so important to assist us in designing something for you that is just right.
- Understand websites. We never expect our clients to understand what makes a website “do what it does”. It is great if you do, but never fear we always help our clients understand the important parts of their site. It is, however, very helpful if you understand how sites function to assist us in offering you features that are going to do the same for your site. For example if you are planning an e-commerce website, check out other sites and notice some features or functions that interest you. “I like how they can accept coupon codes” or “I want to make sure my customers can log in and view their order history” or perhaps “I want to make sure I can offer multiple photos/views of my products”. These are the types of things we want to know about while designing something for you. Having this information from the start makes planning your design much more efficient.
- Have your content in mind. What does this mean? Basically, have a good understanding about the information you want to share with your visitors on a website or blog. This might mean thinking about what pages you want to have in your site (About, Contact, Shop, Policies, etc) and especially what type of information you will share on each of these pages. Although we do not expect our clients to have all of this written out when we start a project, it helps us to know what you are looking for so we can create a proper package and design efficiently.
- Open Communication. Please communicate with us. We understand that things get hectic, and you might need to place a project on hold for a couple of weeks or longer, but it is very important that you let us know this ahead of time whenever possible. If we do not hear from you, even after we have “checked in”, it is hard for us to keep an opening for your project. If we have not heard from a client in over a week, then please understand when you are ready to resume your project there might be a slight delay while we wrap up other things that are on our current schedule. If you let us know ahead of time, about any possible delays, we are more than happy to keep a floating “spot” for you – so when you are ready to resume we promise that we will be ready as well.
- Email Communication. Due to the nature of our business, and that we have clients all over the world, email communication tends to be a primary way to update clients. If this does not work for you, let us know and we can work out scheduled conference calls to discuss your project, its status, and any questions you may have. We appreciate honesty, especially if an email or update is confusing to you – let us know and we will work through it.
